Giant Robot Writers' Room
A downloadable mecha show maker
A game about making a mecha show.
With not enough time.
And too much meddling.
You are an elite writing team working for a studio about to create an exciting new giant robot show. Production is slated to start tomorrow, and you just need to get final approval.
Except you haven't finished the general draft.
Or, you know, started.
This is a game for 2-5 Writers and a General Manager. The GM is responsible for tracking time and facilitating (as well as working as a Writer), while the Writers are in charge of coming up with ideas and writing them down.
Being familiar with Giant Robot/Mecha media is not necessary, and not being familiar can even help with having new and novel ideas.
Made for #NaGaDeMon 2025!
This game is 100% human made, no AI!

We played this game remote today and ran it through google slides and designated each episode to a different slide and let me tell you it was so much fun. The crunch pressure is real but its such a good squeeze.
summary:
Bronze Idol (stylized as bronze IDOL) is an animated mecha action-adventure series produced by Robot Squirrel Productions. The series follows Sen Rahmanaz, a college freshman at Talos University, as they become embroiled in a secret conflict between two factions of robots (MECHA and ROBO) and try to balance their newfound duties as a pilot with school life. The show was generally received well by critics with the notable exception of episode 7 and its inclusion of time travel elements. Despite the positive reception and relatively high viewership, the associated line of toys sold significantly below studio expectations and Bronze Idol was ultimately canceled midway through pre-production on season 2.
This is absolutely incredible! I'm so excited to hear you had a fun time with it, and these artifacts you've shared from your session are an absolute treat. Thank you so much for sharing!
Shame it was cancelled before season 2 could be completed - it sounds like it would have been a wild time. Poor toy sales will get you, though, and there's no show without those sponsors (and their terrible requests).
Congrats on slaying the demon! :D
Thanks!
My original idea was well beyond what I could do in a month, and after a couple of weeks this hit me like a ton of bricks. I'm already looking forward to the next NaGaDeMon.
Hell yeah! C:
